Disinfection & Decontamination Services
Bacterial & Viral Decontamination services help limit risks to your employees, contractors, staff and visitors. The recent coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has highlighted the need for vital infection prevention and control practices. This applies to all types of businesses and accessible public areas.
The new strain of the viruses family is COVID-19 that includes flu like symptoms. The coronavirus has proven to be effective at spreading from person to person and also contaminated surfaces and objects.
News reports covering the novel Coronavirus outbreak serve as a reminder about the importance of effective disinfection procedures. Regarding available disinfection options there are a variety of disinfectant surface sprays, and ULV disinfectants, suitable for use against a wide range of viruses and bacteria.
Dealing with infectious diseases in the UK
Spread of infectious diseases are most likely to happen when there is close contact (within 2 metres or less) with an infected person. It is likely that the risk increases the longer someone has close contact with an infected person. In addition respiratory secretions produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes containing the virus are most likely to be the main means of transmission.
There are 2 main routes by which people can spread:
- The infection can be spread to people who are nearby (within 2 metres) or can be inhaled into the lungs.
- It is also possible that someone may become infected by touching a surface, object or the hand of an infected person.
Disinfection procedures are recommended by the WHO and Public Health England. Advice should be taken from the Chief Medical Officer of the country in question (England, Scotland or Wales).
With increased risk of spread of infectious diseases, professionals and the public are reminded that cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces is good practice.
Do you need Disinfection Services/ Bio-hazard Cleaning?
Whilst we are unable to prevent the spread of infectious diseases through contact with people we can help prevent the spread by decontaminating potentially affected surfaces.
The specialist products we use to prevent rodent and bird viruses are also effective against coronaviruses.
Eurogroup/Europest can provide a range of broad-spectrum virucidal disinfectants. The PX-range of disinfectants has inferred efficacy against coronaviruses due to proven efficacy against Caliciviridae (at dilutions of 1:50) and Vaccinia virus, the laboratory surrogate strain for enveloped virus claims (Coronavirus is an enveloped virus). Another range of virucidal products we use is Bacoban, It uses a semi-permanent nano scale layer of silicon dioxide (SiO2). Not only is Bacoban effective against bacteria but it is also effective against a wide range of pathogens including Hepatitis, Influenza,C-Viruses, HIV, Staphylococcus aureus, Psuedomonas auruginosa and Candida albicans.
Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome. The products we use have been tested against Adenovirus and Murine norovirus. This is in accordance with EN14476, the European standard for demonstrating virucidal activity of a disinfectant, against the enveloped Vaccinia virus.
According to EN14476:2013 + A2:2019, testing the efficacy of a disinfectant against Adenovirus and Murine norovirus allows the products to claim efficacy against enveloped viruses including Coronavirus, Influenza virus, Hepatitis B and C and Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
What will our service include?
The Eurogroup disinfection service is a thorough on-site disinfection service. Such service can be undertaken to provide piece of mind that the site is clean and decontaminated from possible pathogens.
By using our specialist ULV fogging machine, in addition to high pressure area treatment, disinfectant is more comprehensively delivered. Thus ensuring a higher efficacy of disinfection.
High Pressure surfaces – Individual Disinfection
This would include disinfectant treatment to door entry points, handles, drawers, vending machines, filing cabinet handles and all ancillary areas would be individually treated. We use a approved a PX spray disinfection product applied by our team.

All rooms, warehouses, store areas, and internal areas of choice would be treated with ULV disinfectant product. Applied to the local atmosphere via the use of our Ultra Low Volume (ULV) fogging machine. The droplets from the system will penetrate cracks and crevices. Furthermore, the area can be entered once the disinfectant treatment has dried after 2-3 hours. Allowing a quick turnaround to enable your business to return to normal as quickly as possible.
ULV uses micro-droplets and allows us to disinfect where there is electrical equipment present (switched off). Note: We do have to cover or switch off the fire alarms while this work is going on.
